Conservation Manager Krantzkloof NR
I am blessed to live in the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve with my wife Briarley and my two kids, Liam and Leila and I have been working for EKZN Wildlife for the past 22 years in some of the most amazing conservation area in Kwazulu-Natal. We love spending time together outdoors as a family camping, fishing, paddling and running. Although I have never worked in the Drakensberg I still think it is one of the best places to go for a run. In the little bit of spare time I have I enjoy some wood work, leather work, playing guitar and reading Western books.
- In October I will be married to my beautiful wife Briarley for 9 years and have been blessed with two beautiful children
- I have been in a career in conservation for more than 20 years now and still going strong
- I ran my first trail run, the Three Falls Trail Run in 2017 here in the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve
- I finished the Midmar Mile three times and I played three Green Horse Polo Cross tournament for Matamo Polo Cross Club in Estcourt
Not only is the Rhino Peak Challenge a great opportunity to raise much needed fund for conservation programs but I now have an opportunity to support and to do my part in promoting these conservation issues. Everyone out there know about the plight of rhino’s in this country but I don’t often have mush chance in my day to day activities as a manager to tell people out there what I do and what we do as conservation organisations. Now I have a reason to tell my family, friends and others further afield about our involvement in rhino and vulture conservation.
