Operations Director – Isibindi Africa Trails / Walking Trails Guide in Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park
Nunu Jobe one of 13 children grew up in the rural area of KwaJobe in northern Zululand an area renowned for excessive poaching. After matriculating at Mbazwane he worked in security at Phinda Game Reserve. Desperate to follow his calling to become a ranger he left Phinda to do his ranger training with KZN Ezemvelo Wildlife at Mkuze Game Reserve. Nunu held various positions within KZN Ezemvelo from vehicle based guiding and tracking to walking guide until he fulfilled his goal of becoming a full time trails ranger in the wilderness section of iMfolozi Game Reserve. Nunu has led countless trails in this pristine area having a profound impact on many of those people who have been privileged to walk with him. In Dec 2015 he resigned from the Park to realize his long term ambition of opening his own business; Isibindi Africa Trails which is based at Isibindi’s Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge in the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park. From humble beginnings Nunu is now Operations Director of his company and employs 6 highly qualified trails rangers. Nunu is fondly known as “The Rhino Whisperer” as he is able to get guests within a few metres of these animals on foot, he has built up an uncanny report with these animals.
